Cherry Balsom, by Flavor West, DIY e liquid flavor review

Today I tested the flavor of the cherry balsom by flavor west, and here is my review.  First off, you think it should be cherry blossom, but that is the way they spelled it on the bottle…  so no, it is not a typo on my end.  When I think of the name, it makes me thing first, well, that is wrong… then I think that it sounds more like a fragrance than a flavor.   After trying it – well, let’s get on with the review.

This batch was made up on 8-4-2013 , using a 30 pg / 70 vg mixture, so I could get more vapor since I am dripping it right now anyways.  It is a nice almost completely clear, and nice smelling cherry,  and leads you to think you have a winner upon first impressions.  After taking a few hits, here is what I think about it. Please note, it is still in my atty as I write this, so  can keep things fresh on my mind and give the review properly.

Sadly, it is not all it is cracked up to be.  This flavor starts out with a nice smooth cherry flavor, on the mild side.  Then after the inhale, I noticed something like a feeling almost like talcum powder in my mouth.  I am not sure what that is all about, but that is the best way I can say it.  Also, on the exhale, I get a fairly pronounced perfume type smell, almost like a cherry incense.  That is 100% what it reminds me of.  Just a light cheap incense that you can get at the gas station.

The odd thing is, that it does have a decent cherry flavor going on.  This batch was made at 15% flavor.  I am not sure if going up or down will produce better results, with with the powdery and incense things going on, I am not going to find out.  I will find another cherry flavor for my e liquids for sure.   It has a nice pleasant after taste of cherry.  If it did not have that talcum powder like feeling in my mount, I would likely experiment some more with this, but I have a couple of other flavors that have that same sensation going on, and I just do not personally care for it, so there is no need for me to take this one any farther.

I hope this will help point others to a different type of cherry flavoring, as it will be a big help in not wasting your time.  In case you didn’t catch that,,, you probably do not want to waste your money on this flavor.

Thank you for coming by.  Let’s hope my next flavor is a better one.
